I was raised to marry a prince.
Instead, I was taken by the fae during the war.

All the years of tutoring and preparing…
and now I live in a cramped room without a window in my half-sister’s castle.

The fae love to stare.
Having human ears doesn’t help me blend in.
Neither does the sword I carry, and haphazardly wield.

It won’t matter for much longer.
The prince of Estlen has invited me to his kingdom to explore a marriage pact.
I said yes.

Now I’m being escorted by Fyn, the fae Lord Chancellor.
Provoking me is his favorite pastime.
The things he says could drive any woman mad.
But two can play that game.

A cozy fantasy romance with stakes, yearning, banter, fairytale charm, and no spice.

He’s the witty fae lord escorting her to marry someone else (unfortunately, he’s already fallen for her).

She’s the human princess (with very little filter) choosing to pursue an arranged marriage.

Some truths were never meant to be buried—even the stars don’t believe the story she tells herself.

  • There's tavern vibes, fae wine, royal balls, & swords. All the things. The author does banter & slow burn soooo gooood! Love love love!!! It's a fast paced romantasy full of fae banter, no spice yearning romance, & politics.

  • The banter between them just gets cuter and cuter as the story goes on. It's equal parts funny and romantic, and the relationship itself feels like a warm hug.

  • When I say I DEVOURED this!!! It was absolutely amazing and I had so much fun reading it! Brit Bryndell has taken some romantasy staples, mixed them up REALLY well and has cooked up this precious gem. We have clever premise, interesting worldbuilding which is at the same time easily digestible and not overwhelming, wonderful characters who feel real and instantly make us emotionally invested, tight, fast paced action and high stakes, banter for days, one bed at the inn (whoop!), a ball, court politics, plot twists to keep even the most seasoned ones amongst us satisfied and all in just over 300 pages! *APPLAUSE*
